Robert Darvas Associates is a consulting structural engineering firm. We work with architects to
design steel, concrete and wood building structures. Recent projects include Delphi World
Headquarters, 3-Com World Headquarters, The University of Michigan School of Social Work
Building and The Museum of African American History in Detroit.

RDA's History

Robert Darvas Associates, P.C. is a firm of professional engineers who are dedicated to
providing high quality structural engineering services. The firm was established in 1961 as
Robert M. Darvas and Associates by Robert Darvas, an engineer who left his position as
senior structural designer for the Chicago-based firm of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill to
accept a position as Professor of Architecture at the University of Michigan.

RDA has grown through a program of controlled expansion, from its initial part-time
operation to a firm which does business on an international level. Throughout its period of
growth, RDA's primary commitment has been to quality, integrity, and sound business
management.

In September, 1979 Robert Darvas and three of the registered engineers on his staff
incorporated to form the present professional corporation, Robert Darvas Associates, P.C.
The firm is unique in that all of the principals have both engineering and architectural
training and experience. RDA has continually broadened its base and expertise to
include all types of structurally related projects.

RDA is widely recognized for its innovative structural designs and for its general design
excellence. Many of its projects garner architectural honor and merit awards.
